Inca Trail Hiking Tours and Tierras Vivas is a tour operator on 2018, We have the authorization to operating on the Inca Trail and all alternative treks to Machu Picchu since 2006. The National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State (Sernanp) is a public institution attached to the Ministry of the Environment since May 2008. Its mission is to ensure the conservation of the country's Natural Protected Areas, their biological diversity and the maintenance of their services environmental. To achieve this, it has developed international cooperation projects and agreements with civil society and various institutions. The Sernanp is the governing body of the National System of Natural Areas Protected by the State (Sinanpe), and in its capacity as a technical-normative authority it carries out its work in coordination with regional governments, local and owners of properties recognized as private conservation areas. The mission of Sernanp is to conduct the System of Natural Protected Areas of Peru with an ecosystemic, integral and participatory perspective, in order to sustainably manage its biological diversity and maintain ecosystem services that provide benefits to society. Tourism in Peru has been growing steadily. In recent years has become the fourth largest foreign exchange generating activity in the country, with a contribution of more than 17 billion nuevos soles, which represented 3.5% of the PBI (domestic product). To maintain this growth and strengthen the economic impact that it generates, the National Strategic Plan of Tourism (PENTUR) aims to achieve sustainable development of tourism through a competitive tourism offer, environmental management responsible and under a regulatory framework for investment promotion. In this context and taking into account that the Natural Protected Areas (ANP) they are the destinations most visited by national and foreign tourists, the National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State (SERNANP) as the governing body, it is linked to the national tourism policy through the following guidelines:

 

• Promote sustainable tourism as a conservation strategy for the ANP.

• Generate opportunities for profitable tourism businesses that minimize the negative impacts and involve local populations.

• Facilitate the development of a diversified tourist offer on the values natural and cultural activities of the ANP.

 

That is why, with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) and actors linked to tourism, SERNANP has updated and improved the Complementary Provisions to the Regulations of Tourist Use of ANP, approved by Presidential Resolution No. 023- 2014, which aim to generate investment opportunities in sustainable tourism through modalities of granting rights such as: concessions, tourism service contracts, authorizations, permits and agreements.
