Itinerary

Day 01: Cusco - Quesuno - Anata

Day 02: Anata - Rainbow Mountain - Cusco

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Cusco - Pitumarka - Hanchi Pacha - K'airahuiri

We pick you up early from the hotel; our transport will be passing by the hotel at around 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 am to go to the traditional village of Pitumarca, where we have the breakfast. From Pitumarca we are going to continue our trip to Hanchipata, Where we start our 3-hour trekking to Kairahuiri Camp site (4700m / 15.420 pés). On this place, we have our Dinner and our overnight.

 



Day 02: K'ariahuiri - Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain) - Hanchipacha - Cusco

Early wake up early between at 05:00 am, breakfast and We start to walk up to the highest point Vinicunca Mountain (Rainbow Mountain) the distance is 2 hours. We reach the top of the trek. We will appreciate spectacular views of the Rainbow Mountains and the imposing snowy peaks of the place and have time to explore more parts of that place. Then we will have 2 hours downhill to get to our lunch spot, with options to see de Vicunas, condors some birds, local farmers, etc, after our Lunch we will come back to Cusco arriving at 6pm.

  • Pre-trek briefing (Our guide will visit your hotel a day before the trek for your briefing);
  • Early morning transfer by private bus to Qesuno - the initial point of the trek;
  • Accommodation: Campsites (1 nights);

  • Sleeping bags - If you haven't got a sleeping bag or you don't want the hassle of bringing one all the way to Peru with you, then we have sleeping bags for hire.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • It is advisable to travel in the months of April to August.
  • Bring equipment such as: hat, small backpack, comfortable shoes, warm jacket, sunscreen, trekking cane, cover and water to hydrate.
  • It is important that the traveler acclimate to Cusco and travel a few days before to avoid the soroche or altitude sickness.
  • Buy food in the city of Cusco or Pitumarca, are the only places where you will find shops to buy groceries or water.
  • The Vinicunca mountain or mountain of 7 colors has become an important tourist attraction, visited by thousands of national and international tourists. When receiving so many travelers a year, a contingency plan is needed to protect it so that future generations can enjoy it.
