Llactapata; Llaqta = Town, Pata = High place, is an ancient Inca town, located at 2,840 m.a.s.l / 8,136 ft. at the confluence of the Cusichaca, Urubamba rivers in the mountain called Patallaqta, province of Urubamba, department of Cusco. These are constructions with several well-defined sectors, enclosures, platforms, squares, stairways, canals, etc. Highlight, especially the agricultural terraces and their drainage system. This archaeological site should not be confused with another place of the same name, located west of Machu Picchu, which can be visited on the trek to Salkantay, which was a ceremonial center.
Llactapata of the Inca Trail was an eminently agricultural town, it was probably the place where the products of the Valley were concentrated. It has constructions separated from the platforms that could be barns.
Day 01: Hike to Llactapata
Day 02: Hike to Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu
06:30 am Pick up from the Hotel, we will travel through the Sacred Valley, the highest point will be the pass of Abra Málaga at 4350 masl, from where you can see beautiful snowy peaks, then descend through the jungle edge until you reach Santa Teresa in the Province of the Convention, where we had breakfast. Arrival to Lucmabamba, where we will start our adventure trip, is an ascent by the Inca Trail that will take us to Machu Picchu. This route presents a great stretch of the Inca royal road, arriving at the Archaeological complex of LlactaPata, from this place we can see the city Inca of Machu Picchu exactly in front of us. Then descend for 1 hour, passing through a beautiful waterfall, thus reaching Hydroelectric. Place where we have lunch, then continue to Machu picchu Town passing through Mandor and its waterfall, also known for its botanical gardens showing beautiful and colorful flowers, arrival at Machu Picchu Town where we will spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
After breakfast we take the bus that will take us to the Inca city of Machu Picchu, in this way we can be one of the first groups within the Inca city which will allow us to enjoy a beautiful sunrise, then we will have approximately 2 hours a visit through the most important venues with your guide, then you can explore the mysterious city at your own pace. If you were able to confirm your entry to the sacred mountain of Wayna Picchu, you will have time to climb it, Huayna Picchu (2720m / 8923ft)! It takes 45 minutes to get to the top, this walk is additional and optional. At a certain time we take the return bus to the town of Aguas Calientes. You will meet with your guide in Aguas Calientes, Return Train (to Ollantaytambo) and Cusco bus.
